The research was based on studies that focused on the aging of fruit flies. With exhibitions based on Sir Alfred Chester Beatty's Western, Islamic and East-Asian Collections, the booklet helps to give a unique insight into the rich and diverse styles of drawing that can be seen on display. Written and designed in collaboration with the Museum's Education Services, the booklet contains a series of fun exercises and activities to do in while visiting. These help the public to discover new skills and techniques, as well as give them a new appreciation for the art of drawing. Based on the grounds of Dublin Castle, the museum is home to the remarkable collection of mining magnate Sir Alfred Chester Beatty. During the early twentieth-century Beatty built-up an incredibly impressive collection of rare manuscripts, miniature paintings, prints, drawings, rare books and decorative arts from all across the world. In 2009 I collaborated with the museum's Education Services to write, design and illustrate a set of activity packs for families visiting the museum. The project was supported by the State Street Foundation and was launched in May of 2009 by television presenter Brian Ormond. It was curated by Davey Moor in March of 2009. The show was inspired by a fictitious entry that appears in the 1975 edition of The New Columbia Encyclopedia: Mountweazel, Lillian Virginia, 1942-1973, American photographer, b. Bangs, Ohio. Turning from fountain design to photography in 1963, Mountweazel produced her celebrated portraits of the South Sierra Miwok in 1964. She was awarded government grants to make a series of photo-essays of unusual subject matter, including New York City buses, the cemeteries of Paris and rural American mailboxes. The last group was exhibited extensively abroad and published as Flags Up! (1972) Mountweazel died at 31 in an explosion while on assignment for Combustibles magazine. The exhibition also featured contributions from Teresa Gillespie, Sabina McMahon, Jim M. Ricks, Fiona S. Released in June 2012, the album received both a physical and digital release and you can listen to it online through either the band's Soundcloud page or buy a copy through Model Citizen Records.
